Busy, Busy, Busy...

Good morning everybody! Sorry I haven't gotten to write yet this week. I've been pretty busy at work this week, actually, plus I've been working on another project while at work too! LOL.

Anyways, not much has really been going on. Had a great weekend with Wifey and Thing 2! Only down side was that Wifey's Grandma had to go to the hospital, but it looks like everything is okay now, and she'll be coming home this evening. I'm really glad, beacause Wifey has been worrying herself sick while her Grandma's been in the hospital.

Oh yeah, we took Thing 2 bowling Sunday evening. He likes it a lot during the first game, but his attention quikly dwindles during the second game. It was so awesome to watch him when he got a spare, he'd hop up and down, and give me ten! Then, he'd leave some, and you'd see him get disappointed, but the he'd say, "We'll get 'em next time!" I'm so proud of both of my boys!

Shirt of Awesomeness!

I think awesomeness is a word... isn't it? Well, anyway, you have to check out the link below. It will lead you, through Digg.com, to the Amazon listing of the shirt pictured to the left...

Ok, so what's the big deal? You seriously have to take 5 minutes and read the Amanzon reviews of this shirt. It will transform you into a babe magent! Seriously!!

Just as proof, while I was on the web site, just looking at the shirt, I heard the girl who sits across the office from me say, "MMMMMMMMMM!" IS THAT NOT KICK BUTT!?! She was eating some kinda really yummy looking dessert, but hey, Give it a look anyway!

Hunter Leveling Build (30-39)

Hello again! Time to look at the next 10 points in my Hunter Leveling Build. As I noted in the last post, I'll be giving alternate suggestions for both Ferocity and Tenacity pets. The main difference being the style you wish to go with. Ferocity pets kill stuff faster, but Tenacity pets can tank several mobs at once. Really your choice. Your hunter's talents won't be affected at all by the choice.

Tier 5

Intimidation - 1/1 - Command your pet to intimidate the target on the next successful melee attack, causing a high amount of threat and stunning the target for 3 sec
This is a good talent to keep the target on your pet (and not you), the stun is nice as well. The main point to this talent though, is to unlock Bestial Wrath!

Bestial Discipline - 2/2 - Increases the Focus regeneration of your pets by 50/100%
Yes Please! Basically this doubles the amount of special attacks your pet can do in a given time! Put your next 2 points here.

Spirit Bond - 0/2 - While your pet is active, you and your pet will regenerate 1/2% of total health every 10 sec., and increases healing done to you and your pet by 5/10%
An okay talent. We're going to come back to this as a filler later, but I'm skipping this for now. If you're having a hard time keeping your pet alive, you may want to substitute this for Bestial Discipline

Tier 3

Go back and pick up Aspect Mastery now with your next point.

Tier 4

Put one point in Improved Mend Pet now. Mainly because there's not a lot else worth picking up.

Tier 6

Animal Handler - 2/2 - Increases your pet's expertise by 5/10, and increases the duration of your Master's Call effect by 3/6 sec
This talent is actually supposed to change to a straight up attack power boost(5/10%) in patch 3.2, so in forward looking, I'm putting my next two points here.

Frenzy - 3/5 - Gives your pet a 20/40/60/80/100% chance to gain a 30% attack speed increase for 8 sec after dealing a critical strike
Put your last 3 points from this section into Frenzy. It's a great talent to boost pet DPS. 60%(3 points) is supposed to be enough to keep the buff up pretty much 100%(the better your gear, the better chance of this)

Now onto your pets:
Ferocity

Tier 2

Bloodthirsty - 2/2 - Your pet's attacks have a 10/20% chance to increase its happiness by 5% and heal 5% of its total health
A great place to put your next 2 points! This heals your pet AND feeds your pet, all in one step!

I'm only going to go over the pet talents that we are taking, not the ones we're not taking, to save a little space1

Tenacity

Tier 2

Blood of the Rhino - 2/2 - Increases your pet's total Stamina by 2/4% and increases all healing effects on your pet by 20/40%
More HP and 40% more healing = a must have talent! Put your next 2 points here

As you can probably see, the main difference in pets is that the Ferocity talents will be leaning towards increasing DPS, and the Tenacity talents will lean toward survivability

Manswers on Spike!

So, Wifey and I were relaxing on the couch a couple of nights ago, trying to find something to watch before we went to bed when we came across a show called MANswers on Spike.

As the name might imply, it's a show that is about answering "guy" questions. It's a pretty hillarious show, kind of silly most of the time, but entertaining none the less. We've watched it a couple of times now, because it comes on about the time Wifey gets home from work in the evenings (11:30 pm or so), and Wifey says that she thinks they must have plugged a cord into my brain, and just streamed it to the TV show, LOL.

Well, that's about all that's new or interesting in the last few days. Have a great day!

Frerocity > Tenacity?

Good Wednesday morning to everyone! I just finished my weekly WoW play (Wifey home for the next few nights!) and wanted to update every one on Lestunter's progress through Azeroth.

So last night I ended up making it to level 21, and just got to Darkshire to start questing. A couple of days ago I found a spectacular hunter blog at Warcraft Hunters' Union, and in it I discovered an article, Best Leveling Pet, which lets us know with good evidence that Ferocity pets are actually better than Tenacity pets for leveling. So I'm making the switch over to Ferocity.

After A LOT of research (thanks to a boring day at work!) The only thing that needs changing is, obviously the pets talents. So, from now on, I'm going to note differences I would make using each type of pet. There really isn't a lot of difference from your perspective. Just a vast difference in the pet's.

I haven't nabbed me a Ferocity pet yet, but there are some level 20-21 wolves in NW Duskwood that I'm going to grab the next time I play. Then, I'll see if I can tell a difference in leveling speed, etc.

I'm really doing pretty well with my bear, but it does make sense that if you kill stuff quicker, you level quicker. So, without further ado, let's get caught up on your Ferocity Pet's talent build for levels 20-29:

Tier 1

Cobra Reflexes - 2/2 - Increases your pet's attack speed by 30%. Your pet will hit faster but each hit will do less damage
This is a good talent to improve pet DPS, which is what we want to focus on with a Ferocity pet. Put your first 2 points here.

Dash - 1/1 - Increases your pet's movement speed by 80% for 16 sec
This talent is just to get to the next tier, feel free to take Great Stamina 1/3 if you like

Great Stamina - 0/3 - Increases your pet's total Stamina by 4/8/12%
Good talent, but we want to focus on damage dealing talents

Natural Armor - 0/2 - Increases your pet's armor by 5/10%
This is definitely a good talent, and we'll be back later to pick it up

Hunter Leveling Build: Part 1(10-19)
Hunter Leveling Build: Part 2(20-29)

Ferocity > Tenacity? Ferocity Talents (20-29)
Hunter Leveling Build: Part 3(30-39)
Hunter Leveling Build: Part 4(40-49) - Coming soon!
Hunter Leveling Build: Part 5(50-59) - Coming soon!

Hunter Leveling Build (20-29)

Today, I'm going to continue my Hunter Leveling Build guide. We're going to look at your next 10 talent points now, and you have to make some tough choices. Basically I'm passing up some really good talents, that we'll come back to later, to maximize pet DPS to help kill stuff quicker. We'll also look at your pets first 3 talent points!

Here's what your tree should look like after you're at level 29.

Tier 3

Unleashed Fury - 5/5 - Increases the damage done by your pets by 3/6/9/12/15%
This is a straight 15% damage increase for you pet. Put your next 5 points here!

Pathfinding - 0/2 - Increases the speed bonus of your Aspect of the Cheetah and Aspect of the Pack by 4/8%, and increases your speed while mounted by 5/10%. The mounted movement speed increase does not stack with other effects
This is a good talent, but I just don't think the small speed bonus is worth the valuable talent points. Maybe we'll pick it up later if we have spare points.

Aspect Mastery - 0/1 -
Aspect of the Viper - Reduces the damage penalty by 10%.
Aspect of the Monkey - Reduces the damage done to you while active by 5%.
Aspect of the Hawk - Increases the attack power bonus by 30%.
Aspect of the Dragonhawk - Combines the bonuses from Aspect of the Monkey and Hawk

This is a great talent, and we'll definitely come back to it later. Right now, the bonus isn't worth the DPS boost from the other talents we're getting

Tier 4

Ferocity - 5/5 - Increases the critical strike chance of your pet by 2/4/6/8/10%
Another straight pet DPS increase (which will also go well with higher level talents later, that are procced on pet crits). I recommend your next 5 points here

Improved Mend Pet - 0/2 - Reduces the mana cost of your Mend Pet spell by 10/20% and gives the Mend Pet spell a 25/50% chance of cleansing 1 Curse, Disease, Magic or Poison effect from the pet each tick
This is a good mana conservation talent, and we'll definitely be back for at least one point, but we will wait for now

Now for your pet, who starts gaining one talent point for each 4 levels after the ding 20... These seem a lot more tricky to me, so please post suggestions.

Tier 1

Great Stamina - 3/3 - Increases your pet's total Stamina by 4/8/12%
More Stamina = more damage that can be absorbed, and since your pet is acting as your tank, the more, the merrier. I feel these are the the best place to put your first three points

Cobra Reflexes - 0/2 - Increases your pet's attack speed by 30%. Your pet will hit faster but each hit will do less damage
This is a good talent to improve pet DPS, but we've been using our talent points for that. I want to focus on survivability with these talents.

Charge - 0/1 - Your pet charges an enemy, immobilizing the target for 1 sec, and increasing the pet's melee attack power by 25% for its next attack
It seems like not a huge deal to have this. So I skipped it.

Natural Armor - 0/2 - Increases your pet's armor by 5/10%
This is definitely a good talent, and we'll be back later to pick it up

And there you have my suggested talents for levels 20-29 (28 for your pet). Remember, I'm trying to focus on talents that maximize Survivabilty first, DPS second for a solid leveling build. Please feel free to leave any comments I can improve this with. And don't forget to check out the guide for level 10-19 below.

Hunter Leveling Build (10-19)

While working on leveling my new hunter, Lestunter, I found very few good leveling guides as to where to put your talent points. So, I decided to write one of my own as I go and let you know why I did what I did.

After a lot of research, it seems (to me) that the best leveling spec is Beast Mastery, so that's what I'm going with. I'm also choosing to level with a Tenacity pet, so I'll basically have a pet that serves as a tank for my leveling.

So far, it amazes me how easy it is to level a hunter. The survival ability that you gain with a pet amazes me. Although, after making a bad call (or just being dumb), I do find myself wishing I had my pally bubble to get me out of trouble.

So today, I'm going to look at the first 10 points to spend.

Tier 1

Endurance Training - 5/5 - Increases the Health of your pet by 2/4/6/8/10% and your total health by 1/2/3/4/5%
This is a must have for leveling. You and your pet can both take more of a beating. Great Talent! Put your first 5 points here.

Improved Aspect of the Hawk - 0/5 - While Aspect of the Hawk or Dragonhawk is active, all normal ranged attacks have a 10% chance of increasing ranged attack speed by 3/6/9/12/15% for 12 sec
This just isn't a great buff while you're leveling. I would say it's definitely good for a DPS build, but just not for us.

Tier 2

Thick Hide - 3/3 - Increases the armor rating of your pets by 20% and your armor contribution from items by 10%
I feel this is the best place to put your 6th, 7th, and 8th points. This helps your tenacity pet mitigate more damage, and since they'll be tanking for you, that's a good thing!

Focused Fire - 2/2 - All damage caused by you is increased by 1/2% while your pet is active and the critical strike chance of your pet's special abilities is increased by 10/20% while Kill Command is active.
This isn't a spectacular talent (because we won't have Kill Command until level 66), but 2% more damage will help speed along the leveling process. Put your 9th and 10th points here!

Improved Aspect of the Monkey - 0/3 - Increases the Dodge bonus of your Aspect of the Monkey and Aspect of the Dragonhawk by 2/4/6%
You "shouldn't" be getting hit that much to make this a good talent for leveling, plus there's another, better place to put your other 3 points right now...

Improved Revive Pet - 0/2 - Revive Pet's casting time is reduced by 3/6 sec, mana cost is reduced by 20/40%, and increases the health your pet returns with by an additional 15/30%
This just seems like a silly talent to me. If your pet dies, things have gone horribly wrong, and you're more than likely going to die too. So this would save a little time and mana when you die, it's really not worth any talent points.

So there you have my suggestions up to level 19. I think it's a solid starting build, focusing on leveling with a tenacity pet. Feel free to comment!

Weekend Re-cap

Good Monday afternoon all! I've been getting rid of the weekend work clutter, but now I have a few free moments to drop in some notes on my weekend. I had a pretty good weekend on my end. Played a lot with the kids, played a lot with the wife (not that way, you perverts!), and overall had a really good weekend!

Friday night after work, I went and picked up Thing 1 to spend the weekend. We ate at Chick-Fil-A, and let the boys play at the play area there for a while. By the time we got home, it was their bedtime.

After they went to bed, Wifey and I went down and fired up our new copy of Tiget Woods 09 (yea, we're cheap and waited till 2010 came out) We played for a couple of hours, and it was really fun. But, as all of the reviews say, which we unfortunately read after purchasing it, the putting is pretty crappy.

Saturday was a rainy day, and we didn't get a lot accomplished. Thing 2 was up at 8:30 (after several attempts to get up earlier), and he and I watched some cartoons while waiting on Thing 1 and Wifey to wake up. That happened about 10, and we all had breakfast.

Since it was rainy and nasty, we played a lot of Wii and did some sword fighting with the new Nerf swords that you may have seen at your local toy store. We also played a lot of "Go Fish", it was fun teaching the boys the card game. After nap time, we did some shopping and that's about it.

Sunday was about the same. Both boys were up early though, so we headed back for some more Mario Kart. After breakfast, we went to Wifey's grandparents where the boys played outside, chaing each other on Power-Wheels four-wheelers. It was a lot of fun!

Big Plans tonight!

All kinds of stuff going on tonight! It's gonna be a busy day. I work till 5, then I have to go and pick up Thing 1 for the weekend! Then, after the boys go to bed, it's mine and Wifey's date night!!! :-D

A few months ago, we started setting aside an evening each week when we'd have an in house date. It's been awesome just to make the special time for each other! We do anything except the norm, which is sitting on the couch watching TV. Most of the time we go downstairs to our family/game room, put a blanket in the floor, and watch a movie picnic style. It's so much fun!

Tonight, I think we're gonna start out at least with some Tiger Woods 09 for the Wii. We just got it a couple of days ago, and neither of us have had a chance to play it yet. Then, we'll probably end up watching a movie... Possibly Seven Pounds, but not sure how good that really is.

So, now I just have to make it throught the rest of the work day... At least it's almost lunch time already! I can't wait for tonight!! Peace...

Last Night

Last night, Wifey had to work again for getting the 4th of July off :-(, so me and Thing 2 had to go it alone again. We went to the grocerie store first to get him some chocolate milk and a cupcake. (They have like the best cup cakes in the world there!) They have these buggies there that look like a little truck, he rides up front and the "bed" of the truck is the actual buggie part. He loves driving those.

After the grocerie store, we headed back home for the evening. I asked Thing 2 what he wanted to do. "I want to eat my cup-cake and go knock out some Wob-gob-i-wins!" he said excitedly. So we headed downstairs, to the computer room after he had licked most of his icing off(that's how he "eats" cupcakes) and fired up Free Realms.

We played Free Realms for about an hour and he started getting restless and tired. "I want to do something different," Thing 2 said. So we headed to the Wii after going through the list of possiblities with him. He chose to play Mario Kart... Mario Kart used to be his "thing" we played (both boys, actually), so much so, that I now have gold medals in every single cup, at all levels. All of the victories came with the help of my boys!

Needless to say, after all of this racing, it was kind of getting old to me, so I decided to try the online multiplayer version of the game. This is great fun, by the way, but when you have a tiring 3 year old, the extra time it takes to match everyone, and pick the track, etc. makes him get tired of it pretty quick. I think I got about 3 races in before he was ready to switch to Wii Sports and do some bowling.

But alas, after 1 game of bowling, when I was just getting into it, lol, he was ready to head upstairs and to bed. We watched some Wonder Pets, had a quick snack, and got him to bed.

Now I still had a couple of hours to kill before Wifey got home, so I headed back down to play some WoW, but I really wasn't all that into it... just missed Wifey tonight. I did make about a level and a half (so I'm 16 now). I think I'm gonna mainly do a once a week post about the leveling process.

Anyways, 11 rolled around, and I was soooo excited Wifey would be home soon, but she wasn't. :-((
No big deal though, she saw a friend that used to work for her at her previous job and stopped to talk for a few minutes. Finally, Wifey got home! We snuggled for a bit and went to sleep.

My competition!

So to the left here, you see my competition. Wifey LOVES Daughtry. I mean LOVES, LOVES Daughtry. I would probably say obsesses over Daughtry, but I might get in trouble ;-)

We went to 2 of their concerts on the last round of tours. One in Winston Salem, NC and the other in Greensboro, NC where they opened for Bon Jovi. They were both pretty awesome concerts, so I can't complain much!

Next week, Daughtry is releasing their new album, Leave This Town, and Wifey cannot wait to get her hands on it. Last night, as we were getting ready to go to bed, she saw on the website that Rhapsody has a "leaked" version that you can listen to already a week early. That's pretty cool, but needless to say, she had to take a listen to EVERY song at 12 am last night!

I didn't mind, really. I'm a closet Daughtry fan. (Have to keep it on the DL so Wifey doesn't find out, lol) I just think it's cute and funny that she could barely keep her eyes open until she saw this, then she was wide awake! LOL! I LOVE YOU BABY! You're too cute!

Free Realms

So my youngest son, Thing 2 (just turned 3), kept seeing the Free Realms commercials on Nickelodeon and kept saying, "I want to play that!" So a few days ago, I said to my self, "Self, lets try this Free Realms thing out for Thing 2"

I downloaded the game and started playing with him, and he loves it! It's actually a pretty fun little game to be free. Definitely not as hard core or combat related as Warcraft, but fun in it's own right. There are lots of mini-games (like cart racing) and they're all pretty fun!

Thing 2's favorite part is part of the Brawler job. There are little bad guys call robgoblins, and he loves to beat them up, lol. That's all he wants to do when he sees the computer. He says, "Daddy, lets beat up some wob-gobwins!" It's hillarious that he's already a gamer! Note to self, must get Thing 1 (almost 5) gaming as well. I don't want him to be all red-neck like the other side of his family, lol.

Here's a robgoblin

I hate traffic tickets...

So, I just had to leave work for a bit to go to the city court. I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago for having an expired inspection sticker... Well, instead of just taking care of the ticket, the cop made me go to court. I got there about 5 mins before the time the told me, and the whole room is full. I've never been to anything like this, so it was kinda neat, but it was eating up my lunch time! That part sucked. When they started, the judge just starts calling people up one at a time and says, you're here for "blah, blah, blah." While I was waiting for my turn, there were some cool ones:
  • Underage Consumption
  • Driving on Revoked liscense
  • Brandishing a Weapon
  • etc.
So... when they finally got to me, the judge called me up and seemed almost amused that an expired inspection sticker was all I had. He sent me over to the prosecutor to show him my receipt, and then we went back up to the judge to get it dismissed. All that took 45 mins and now I have to have Wifey and my son (we'll call the youngest one 'Thing 2') have to bring me lunch. It sucks that I won't get to see her much because she's gotta work tonight. At least she's off tomorrow!

My new Hunter, Lestunter

Good morning everyone! I'm already bored here at work, lol. I just wanted to show you my new Hunter on WoW. I just started him on the 3rd while my wife was at work.

He's going to level (and probably stay) as Beast Master spec. I made it to level 15 last night, I'll post a link of his talent tree below.

I've never played a hunter before, and it seems really fun (and easy). My main has always been a Ret Pally, so it's a big change from melee to ranged with a pet. Well, everyone have a great day. I love you Wifey!

My talents so far...
Talents

What I do...

So, a little more about the thing that inspired this Blog, my job!

I work for a small company that sells commercial food equipment to businesses, schools, gov't agencies, etc. I'm a sales person in a round about way (no one really has set in stone jobs). I cold call people who might be interested in buying from us and give them quotes if they're interested. I also bid on large constructions jobs (ie. new schools, remodels, etc.), which is the most exciting part of my job.

It is a very interesting and fun job, but alas, it gets very boring after several hours of staring at the old computer screen all day. There is a lot of down time. Sure, I could just call more people, but that's pretty crappy as well after you've spent 3 hours of getting voicemail and being told, "We don't need anything right now."

So I just got a little excitement today. I got called into our Ops Manager's office and told that our book keeper is having some health issues and may need some help with some of our billing, book keeping, etc, and asked if I'd be interested in helping out (remember how I said no one has 'exact' jobs). So, I said sure. So I've spent the afternoon learning about the book keeping side of the company. Pretty cool stuff! And I'll get to spend the day tomorrow actually doing the work and getting my feet wet. Maybe I can end up with a promotion! Talk to ya'll soon!

Restarting WoW

So, has anyone out there not heard of World of Warcraft? Well, I'm a recovering WoW addict. I was beyond addicted for a long time. I neglected my family and job to raid on WoW. I played for over 3 years until, I almost lost my wonderful wife, we'll call her Wifey, because of a stupid game! It should have been obivous to me that staying up until 3 and 4 a.m. every morning, and being more worried about getting to my computer to raid than spending quality time with Wifey is not a good way to grow a marriage. Well, it wasn't! But, after some very, very dark times in our marriage (we made it to 3 years on 6/29!), I've finally gotten my priorities straight and our marriage is back on track, the way it should be! So... Wifey just got a new job and she'll be working evenings until 11 p.m. 3 nights a week. So this gives me a couple of hours of "me" time after I get our 3 yr old son down for the night. (I also have a 4 yr old son from a previous marriage, I only get him every other weekend though :( ) So anyway, for my "me" time, I decided to start playing WoW again. But this time, I'm doing it right. I'm going to be playing it only when I should be (ie. when my wife's at work), and not neglecting everything else to do it. So I'll now be exploring the more casual side of the game. No raiding unless it's a quick PUG. And of course, trying to get Wifey to join in and play! I'll introduce you to my new toon (and probably my old ones as well) in the near future. I'll get a few pics to share and keep you updated on his leveling process and other things!

Hello World!

Hey all! Today, I was sitting here at work, bored out of my mind reading some blogs, and said to myself, "Self, why don't you write a blog about being bored at work!"

So here I am. Thanks to everyone if you accidentally just my site. I plan to discuss random things that I'm thinking about on here. Of course, I'll be posting all of this, while I'm bored at work!

The following things are gonna be the basis for my postings:
  • My Family
  • God
  • Wii
  • World of Warcraft
  • Work
That's pretty much all I do, so that should do it! Well, tune in again for more interesting stuff!
